The example sentences come from Tatoeba (or at least that was the case the last time I looked into it), and aren't explicitly written for Jisho.
Also, in general, I would say the purpose of the Japanese example sentence is to show that meaning being used (this one does), and if the exact English gloss gets used in the translation, that's kind of a bonus, because coordinating it beyond that is well beyond the scope of a site like Jisho, run by a solo dev. He can't be going and checking or modifying every example sentence.
