well '伝え' is the best direct fit for '伝え'...
in your example 'to convey' is a verb and '伝え' is a noun
if you want 'to convey' to show up first try searching for the verb '伝える' instead of '伝え'
For learners it would be very helpful to have a link or a mechanism to alert them to compund nouns, and in the case of '伝え' one compound noun that's equivalent to the meaning 'tradition/legend' but probably more frequently used is "言い伝え". It would be nice to have something to point the learner to this expression, perhaps as a note or in the form of "also see...."?
