I guess some of the spam accounts still exist, even if they can't create new ones. Glad to hear about updates though!

No longer possible to sign up for new accounts
Due to daily waves of spam on the forum I have been forced to turn off the ability to create new user accounts.
I am still working on a new version of the site, where I'm trying out ways to prevent spam accounts from signing up. The new site will include more features for user accounts, like expanded search history functionality, and bookmarking abilities. Those interested can check out the beta at https://four.jisho.org.
