This is a discussion about 二見

I can't find the same definition on Japanese dictionnaries

Hello,

I'd like to know where the definition of “forked” comes from, as I can ’t find it in any of the Japanese dictionaries I"ve consulted.

Also, is it really a common word?
According to my (quick) research it is the name of the place where the 夫婦岩 is located in the town of Ise.
Given that it's a well-known place I wouldn't be surprised if the word 二見 had a high frequency of use, but I think it's mostly due to the proper noun and not the common noun.

Can you shed some light on this?

I don't see this in references either. In my references this either refers to the the former town of Futami in Watarai district in Mie prefecture, or to a tiny wooden desk used by writers in the past.

Judging from the JMdict entry, this hasn't been touched in more than a decade.
I have submitted an edit to the entry.

to reply.
